Barbara Ansfree, Director of Housing Services
Barbara has been with Turning Point for 16 years. Her current position, Director of Housing Services, involves supervision of all resident educators, relief staff, Starting Point staff, afternoon/early evening office personnel, and the overnight advocate. She has demonstrated her ability to effectively support victims of domestic violence and offer her leadership skills to the staff.
Sandy Hall-Brown, Operations Director
Sandy Hall Brown has been Turning Point's Operations Director since 1987. She has been actively involved in the agency's expansion and has participated in or acted as the general contractor as the facilities have grown from one to five sites. Her employment with the agency began in 1982. She has a BS in Social Work and Psychology.
Beck Dows, Director of Development
Beck began as a volunteer with Turning Point in July 2007 and was hired as the Director of Development in September 2007. She has worked in non-profit organizations for most of her career, primarily in financial management and administration. Beck is responsible for raising money for Turning Point through written appeals and grant applications, community events, and fundraising through a major donor program. She has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Trinity College in Vermont.
Jennifer Mack, Communications Director
Jennifer came to Turning Point in September 2007. As Communications Director, she is responsible for media relations, producing the agency's quarterly newsletter to supporters, maintenance of Turning Point's Web site, event publicity, and keeping elected officials informed about legislation that affects domestic violence victims and service providers. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Lafayette College.
Ellen K. Mooney, MA, Director of Client Services
Ellen Mooney received her Masters in Counseling Psychology. She began volunteering in the domestic violence field in 1979 with the Domestic Violence Crisis Service in Stroudsburg, PA. Ellen then began volunteering at Turning Point in 1981. She became the Lehigh County Project Director in 1988.
Mary Nelson, Court Advocacy Coordinator
Mary received her BA in Elementary Education from Kutztown University. She began her work at Turning Point in 1993 as a Children's Advocate. In 1999, Mary switched to Turning Point's Court Advocacy Program as a Court Advocate. After four years as a Court Advocate, she was promoted to Court Advocacy Coordinator in 2003.
Pam Russell, Executive Director
Pam Russell began the position of Executive Director at Turning Point on August 1, 2003. Pam's vision for Turning Point focuses on inclusion of every sector in the community in our efforts to eliminate domestic violence. She wants to ensure that "all victims of domestic violence across the Lehigh Valley have access to Turning Point's services."
Pam's education and work experience have provided her with the skills necessary to represent Turning Point in the community. Pam graduated from William Smith College in Geneva, NY with a bachelor's degree and received a masters in nonprofit administration from the University of San Francisco.
Pam first answered an advertisement requesting volunteers for a children's program at the Committee to Aid Abused Women in Reno, Nevada in 1987. Once she began to volunteer for this program, Pam was committed to working with battered women. As is typical with volunteers at Turning Point, Pam started out as a volunteer and progressed to a paid position. She has worn many hats in her non-profit career. Some of the positions she has held include: crisis intervention counselor advocate, director of volunteer programs, transitional housing coordinator, development director, and deputy director. Pam also worked for the United Way in Campaign & Community Building for three years.
While Pam was working to eliminate domestic violence, she also volunteered for the following organizations: Nevada Women's Lobby Steering Committee, Silver State Fair Housing Council, Girl Scout Council Performance Assessment Task Force, Washoe County Social Services Advisory Board, Safe Embrace Shelter and was a T-Ball Coach and 4-H trainer. During the early part of the summer, Pam and her husband, Jeff decided to move to the Lehigh Valley. Pam said, "It's so terrific coming into a community that has helped Turning Point to grow over the last 25 years; I can't thank our
supporters enough for their commitment."
Stephanie Wodyka, Outreach Director
Stephanie Wodyka came to Turning Point in September, 1996. She currently oversees Turning Point’s Outreach Department which includes the Jennifer Woodard Prevention Program, Community Education Department, Medical Advocacy Project (MAP), and the Volunteer Program. Previously, Stephanie served as the agency’s Volunteer Services Liaison including facilitating the 45-hour domestic violence training, publishing a monthly volunteer newsletter and hosting the annual volunteer recognition dinner. She has a degree in elementary education from ESU and taught middle school mathematics and language arts for many years. Before joining the staff at Turning Point, Stephanie served as a volunteer herself in the position of chairperson for Moravian Academy’s Auction ’96.
